The purpose of this project is to support the teaching efforts of the academic staff at the University of West Attica and to enhance the overall learning experience for students. The project supports the University’s Center for Teaching and Learning, which, according to the
provisions of Article 51 of Law 4009/2011, serves as the competent university structure for the support of teaching and learning at the university, following international standards and practices. Through this initiative, the Center for Teaching & Learning aims to foster a community centered on learning, innovation, and continuous improvement in teaching
practices. It seeks to assist instructors in their professional development by providing targeted support for their teaching activities. The project’s actions encompass the entire educational community, including academic staff, support staff, and students—and focus on achieving the following specific objectives:
- To support both the main and auxiliary staff of the University, especially new instructors, through the design of Learning Cycles with an emphasis on innovative practices and approaches for adult education and University Pedagogy.
- To inform and support instructors regarding the use of new Information and Communication Technologies in teaching and learning.
- To contribute to University’s compliance with the quality and effectiveness criteria set within the framework of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
- To promote communication among instructors for the exchange of views regarding successful practices or problems they face during their teaching.
- To develop an institutional repository with innovative educational material related to teaching and learning in higher education, as well as best practices.

- Organization and Development of the Center for Teaching and Learning
- Institutional Repository: The Center created an institutional repository for the development of digital educational material that is open to the entire educational community of the institution (https://kedima.uniwa.gr/).
- Educational Activities – Learning Circles: The Centre designed a series of learning circles in various topics such as: University Pedagogy & Student-Centred Learning, Applying Experiential Learning, Digitally Supported Learning in the Higher Education Environment, Team-based Learning, Technology in Higher Education, Educational Design, Specific Learning Difficulties & Interculturalism in Higher Education.
- Information, awareness, publicity and promotion of the Centre: Creation of a web portal (https://ctl.uniwa.gr), Organization of workshops to promote the project’s activities, 1st KEDIMA Conference – A Year of Innovation, Creativity & Learning” (30 September 2023), Social media publications (Facebook, Linkedin, etc.). KEDIMA has promotion sites on Facebook, Linkedin and Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/@CTLUniWA)To cultivate cooperation with similar structures of higher education institutions in the country and abroad, and to develop common actions and synergies.
