WE-TEAM

Industrial Design and Production Engineering Department (University of West Attica) in collaboration with the University of Ghent (Belgium), the Kyoto Institute of Technology (Japan), the University of Haute-Alsace (France), University of Boras (Sweden), and University of Valencia (Spain), organize and operate the joint Postgraduate Program  entitled “Advanced Studies in Textile Technology” (World Textile Engineering Advanced Master: WE-TEAM) starting at the academic year 2021-2022.

The administrative support of the program, regarding the activities that take place in Greece will be implemented by the University of West Attica and the coordination of the program by the University of Ghent (Belgium). The purpose of this International MSc program is the acquisition of the necessary basic knowledge, skills and abilities to assimilate the latest developments in the field of textile technology and its applications. The theoretical and practical approach is characterized by the interdisciplinary approach imposed by the different scientific fields involved and provides for the exchange of students and the award of a Postgraduate Diploma by the universities in which they chose to study at the University. Textiles are an interdisciplinary field that combines the science of (mainly fibrous) materials, engineering, chemistry, electronics, process technology, the design and production of standard and innovative products. Recently, the participation of other scientific disciplines has increased, such as structural engineering, life sciences, nanotechnology, etc. For this reason, it is important to combine the above sciences to form a modern program. The Postgraduate Program entitled “Advanced Studies in Textile Technology” (World Textile Engineering Advanced Master: WE-TEAM), which combines the above characteristics, has been approved and funded by the Erasmus Mundus program. This program works in addition to many undergraduate programs of the country’s universities and covers a field that is not served by another similar program.
