This Ph.D. proposes a novel framework for the ethical development and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems grounded in Human Rights. It bridges legal, ethical, and technical disciplines to assess how Human Rights principles can be embedded into AI system design.

A comparative legal analysis of the EU regulatory framework focusing on the “AI Act”. The thesis envisions an ethical design matrix usable by both engineers and policymakers. It offers a method to identify gaps in existing AI frameworks and proposes interdisciplinary tools and models to address them, ensuring AI development is aligned with fundamental rights protections.
