T-CREPE: Textile engineering for co-creation paradigms in education

Cocreation is a powerful educational methodology for learning based on design with potentially strong financial impact. It covers the needs for innovative teaching methods that bring in broad and in-depth knowledge, skills such as business behavior, multifaceted thinking, teamwork, communication and building collaborations and networks.

T-CREPE faces two problems that limit the effects that need to be achieved, namely upgrading and transferring successful results.
A game-based platform will support teachers in implementing learning activities based on co-creation in their lessons, saving time and improving their effectiveness, focusing on acquiring knowledge in textile-related disciplines, developing student collaboration skills and building. In addition, the platform will also enhance the transfer of useful results of co-creation cases, leading to commercial exploitation.

T-CREPE tasks consist of developing the electronic support tool and its content. The tools and their content will be evaluated during the creation of compositions prepared in collaboration with the industry and other stakeholders.

The project is based on tools and content that have been developed in previous projects. Additional content (games) will be created by the partners but also by the teachers and students as part of the daily teaching tasks.

The consortium consists of a geographically balanced group of 4 academic partners with a background in co-creation in education, training, business and textile and (virtual) design. The industry is represented by 2 federations and 2 small and medium-sized enterprises specializing in ICT in textiles. Industry representatives will be involved in all activities to ensure that their needs and expectations are also targeted, so that the platform is attractive to them as well.

The “T-CREPE” platform will be developed for textile engineering (which is a very interdisciplinary field), but will be easily transferable to other engineering and general studies.
